About 120 km away from Isfahan lies one of the gems of Iranian oasis villages called Varzaneh. Taking a Varzaneh tour and visiting Varzaneh tourist attractions, one would see that it’s a place where civilization is in complete tune with nature. Nothing seems out of place in here. Pigeons provide the farmers with fertilizer and the farmers build towers to protect them from heat and desert snakes. Camels and oxen grind wheat and barley and draw water from deep wells while relishing the melodious tune of their grey-haired owners. People’s complexion has the same color and humility of the interminable sand dunes and water is as precious as rubies. Nocturnal breeze fills the scorched lungs while the eyes admire the immensity of the desert sky with an infinity of stars. Nothing not even death seems so ominous in here as everything is redolent of eternity. You won’t find a fancy modern hostel or hotel in Varzaneh since the town is one of those places that still defies luxury and mundane concerns. People who founded the traditional guesthouses in Varzaneh are all locals. They are well-educated and commendably informed about the history of their village and its surroundings. Varzaneh has a couple of guesthouses all alike in warmth and comfort. And although Varzaneh doesn’t have any modern hotels and hostels, and its accommodation choices are limited to a few guesthouses, all of them provide online booking services as well as Wi-Fi internet. Every hotel and guesthouse in central Iran is unique in a way but something about Varzaneh guesthouses transcends any simple classification; they are literally the ultimate oasis abodes.
