About 120 km away from Isfahan lies one of the gems of Iranian oasis villages called Varzaneh. Pigeons provide the farmers with fertilizer and the farmers build towers to protect them from heat and desert snakes. People who founded the traditional guesthouses in Varzaneh are all locals. They are well-educated and commendably informed about the history of their village and its surroundings. Varzaneh has a couple of guesthouses all alike in warmth and comfort. And although Varzaneh doesn’t have any modern hotels and hostels, and its accommodation choices are limited to a few guesthouses, all of them provide online booking services as well as Wi-Fi internet. Every hotel and guesthouse in central Iran is unique in a way but something about Varzaneh guesthouses transcends any simple classification; they are literally the ultimate oasis abodes.
