Alamut Hotels

 

Alamut is a legendary mountainous region in Qazvin province in the north-west of Iran. Those who have already taken an Alamut tour would say that the region is great for two reasons; its mesmerizing nature, and its castles. But, Alamut wasn’t only the impenetrable seat of the assassins, it was also the kernel of the latest scientific and astrological developments and the place where one of the largest collection of books in the world was kept. Nowadays, the ruins of the region’s castles especially the Castle of Assassins ruled by Hassan-i Sabbah and Lambsar Castel in the west of the valley that were under the control of the powerful Nizari Ismaili state serve as the main tourist attractions in Alamut. Alamut is considered a remote region in the mountains of Iran and those who seek accommodation usually stay in the few hotels and hostels in and around the valley or book rooms in a Qazvin hotel and make their trip to Alamut a one-day trip. There aren’t any fancy hotels in Alamut but the few nice hostels and guesthouses in this great valley in Iran accommodate all the incoming tourists. Seven Hostel in Alamut, located in the beautiful village of Zarabad for example is a great option to stay there. It is a small traditional and really stylish guesthouse run by a lovely couple who serve very delicious local dishes.
