Visadar Waterfall
The untapped nature has long been a source of tranquility for human beings as
the modernization process is reformulating and reshaping our very own habits,
environments and ultimately lives. Now while that may be a necessity, it does
have its consequences which would leave us with various types of anxieties and
debilitative preoccupations. The best way to deal with these anxieties is to
reconnect with nature and that is what attracts a lot of visitors to places such
as
Visadar Waterfall
in Iran’s
Gilan Province. The wild nature and the
peaceful atmosphere of this area has made it a safe haven for Iranian and
foreign visitors alike. There are a number of waterfalls in Gilan Province but
none could provide the uncanny and the solitary experience that Visadar
Waterfall offers to its visitors.

Now, in every country or region in the world, there are parts that have survived
the touch of the great civilization machine more than others. In Iran, the
northern coast which neighbors the
Caspian Sea is one of these places. The Gilan
Province which is considered the most visited and the most reputable for its
scenic nature, leads the country in providing the most preserved and beautiful
natural locations; mystifying forests such as the
Fandoqlu Forest, peaceful
waterfalls such as Visadar Waterfall, green fields and hills such as
Satan’s
Hill, and of course the Caspian Sea. Among the above-mentioned
Gilan tourist
attractions, one has stayed the closest to its natural state and that is the Visadar Waterfall. This natural wonder is considered the third highest waterfall
in Gilan, but definitely the leading candidate for the most beautiful. The name
Visadar means “Shadow of the Willow Tree” and truly befits this place as it
adequately captures its serene and peaceful essence. Standing below this sublime
waterfall, gazing at its elegance, and listening to the hypnotizing sound of the
falling water is a heavenly combination rarely found which could rid you of any
preoccupations and help you refresh your mind. Among all the trees, the rocks
and the exotic birds singing, there is a bridge you can walk on to look at the
furious untamed river underneath. This would definitely spike your adrenaline
levels instantly as there is some excitement and fear involved as well.
This spectacular waterfall is located in Talesh Forest in the Paresar
region. The Paresar Town is part of Rezvanshahr City, in the western half of the
Gilan Province. Visadar Waterfall is 15 km from the Paresar Town and if you
decide to visit the town first, a 5-dollar taxi ride could get you from Paresar
to the waterfall. Also, Visadar Waterfall is approximately 90 km from the Rasht
City, the capital of Gilan, and it would take a 2-hour trip which would cost you
30 dollars to go there. However, this gorgeous waterfall may be listed in one of
the many
Gilan tours available when you decide to visit. Some of these great
tour packages are
Gilan trekking tours,
Caspian Sea nature tours and
Caspian Sea
boat riding tours.
