Shahandasht Waterfall
Heights are fearful for most people. But when it comes to the wonders of nature
known as waterfalls, people forget about their fears. They climb to the top of
the mountains and enjoy the marvelous scene from above the waterfalls. Iran is a
country that provides her people with the best of every natural sight in the
world. Lofty mountains, vast sandy deserts, dense green forests, the largest
lake and the most famous gulf in the world are just some of the wonders of
nature in Iran. As for waterfalls, Iran is blessed with a great array of
different cascades and waterfalls. Laton, Varvar and Piran are the most visited
waterfalls in Iran. But there are hundreds of other hidden gems in Iran that
only a few know about and the pristine nature around the marvelous
Shahandasht
Waterfall is one of them. Located deep in the rich nature of
Mazandaran Province, Shahandasht
is the second highest waterfall in Iran. This beautiful waterfall lies in
Shahandasht village 65 km away from Amol. A major National Heritage Site,
Shahandasht Waterfall is south of the famous Road 77. The great thing about the
waterfall is that it never stops flowing even during the cold winter days. The
most significant historic site near Shahandasht Waterfall is the magnificent
Malek Bahman Fort. The solid structure stands 220 m above the ground on a
mountain. This National Heritage Site dates back to the pre-Islamic period. It
used to be a stronghold under the rule of the Paduspanids, a dynasty that
dominated the southern coast of the Caspian Sea for near a millennium. Shah
Abbas, the most powerful king of the Safavid finally put an end to the ancient
rule of the Paduspanids by invading the fort and its surrounding regions in 1596
AD. This beautiful natural sight is, of course, a part of our
Mazandaran Day
Tours. The incomparable diversity of
Mazandaran’s tourist attractions
complicates the process of selecting spots for tours. But if you ask any
Iran tour operator about the most popular tourist spots in Mazandaran, they will
immediately speak of Ramsar Palace and
Badab Soort Terraces Springs. The first
of the two,
Ramsar Palace, was the summer vacation of the kings of Pahlavi
dynasty. Located in Ramsar, one of the excellent vacation spots in Iran, this
beautiful palace now functions as a museum of Iranian modern history. The next
place on the list of all
Mazandaran tours is a true miracle of nature. The water
that boils out of these stunning springs boasts a rainbow of colors. The colors
are the work of the different minerals present in the underground reserves of
water. As you can see, our Mazandaran tours are adventures not to be missed! Our
two-day tours of Badab Soort will take you on a memorable journey. You will
spend the night in the scenic Orost village, and you will get to visit one of
the most spectacular springs in the world. We have another marvelous package in
Mazandaran, and that is, of course, our Caspian Sea Nature Tour. If you decide
to spend more than a day in Mazandaran and try other great tours, you will also
have a superb time in
Mazandaran’ hostels and hotels. You have to be careful
though to book your accommodation online since Mazandaran is visited by millions
of Iranians through the year especially during Spring and summer.
