One of the most stunning sights you will ever come across is the view of barren golden dunes under the searing desert sun. Iran is an ideal place to experience such sublime landscapes and the reason is obvious: 25 percent of Iran’s land area is covered with deserts and that includes some of the hottest spots on the face of the earth. Dasht-e Kavir (AKA Iran’s Central Desert and Great Salt Desert) is the larger of the two massive deserts in Iran (the other being Dasht-e Lut).
