Rivas Guesthouse is a traditional ecoldge located in a village called Dehno Farokhzad in the vicinity of Shahr-e Babak city, Kerman Province, Iran. This guesthouse is family-run and is a perfect option for the foreign tourists who would like to enjoy an authentic experience of the way Kermani people live in villages. The village in which Rivas Guesthouse is located is interesting in two major aspects; first, it gives you access to ancient historic sights around Shahr-e Babak and second, the natural scenery of the region. Staying at Rivas gives you the chance to visit one of the most ancient villages in the world called Meymad Village. This village that is now a World Heritage Site includes 350 hand-dug rocky houses that date back to 12000 years ago and is for sure one the oldest extant human dwellings on earth. Many families have kept their ancient style of life in this village and so this place is visited by many foreign tourists every year.

Kerman Rhubarb Fields

The word Rivas is a Farsi word that means rhubarb. The reason behind this naming is the rhubarb fields that one can find in the vicinity of Dehno Farokhzad village in which Rivas Guesthouse is located. Every spring, when the rhubarb fields are abloom, there come many people to enjoy the amazing beauty of the fields.

Rivas Guesthouse Facilities

1. There are dorm beds, private rooms and also tents available at this place.

2. There is a partly shaded garden at this guesthouse in which the guests get together and socialize.

3. There are two small pools in the house; one is a reservoir to water the plants and the other one is used by kids to splash around in hot summers.

4. There are both Iranian and western toilets in this place.

5. There is a parking lot inside the garden.

Please, we need some information, we dont know if is better stay on Teheran one day or try to take a bus early morning to Kerman on 27. I just spent one night at this lovely and comfortable guesthouse, a quiet and refreshing halt on my journey from Yazd to Kerman via Meymand.
